The second week of my internship was off to a great start. On the way to the studio, I picked up coffee for me and Ashley, because it's Pumpkin Spice season, of course. ;) My first task of the day was to transfer the Inverse Ruth Pant pattern to brown paper, walk the seams, and alter the pattern slightly if needed. After completing the pattern transfer, Ashley checked it to make sure that we didn't mark the size incorrectly.
Next, I pressed this vibrant twill fabric in order to prepare to cut the Button Down Dress. This industrial iron feels like heaven. While pressing, I noticed that the fabric began to change color and I was worried that I had ruined Ashley's fabric! Luckily, I was assured that due to the strong pigment in the dye that the color would go back to normal once it cooled down. After cutting out the Button Down dress, I also cut out some fusible interfacing for the dress with a rotary cutter.
